Irish Channel

Significant imigration from Ireland to the U.S. took place from 1810 to 1850, and by 1830, many Irish Catholics ended up debarking at Adele Street, just outside the New Orleans' city limits at the time. The area quickly grew into the working-class neighborhood known as The Irish Channel, and developed quite the reputation for being filled with ruffians. Today, the neighbourhood is the epicenter of the St. Patrick's Day celebrations in the city. This sock pays helmage to all proud Irish men and women.
